Warning: Some Ritz Cracker Products Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

Heads up, parents: Mondelez International has issued a voluntary recall for some of its Ritz Crackers products because of a potential risk of salmonella. Although no illnesses have been reported yet, the company is being proactive in recalling 16 varieties of Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products in the U.S. because of the whey powder, which its supplier has recalled due to the potential presence of salmonella.

Worried that you or your little ones may have consumed them? Symptoms to look for: fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The microorganism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in the young, elderly and/or those with weakened immune systems. So it’s not something to mess around with.

Check your pantry for the following products (along with their UPC numbers and “Best When Used By” dates), which are included in the recall, and throw them out ASAP:
