John Stamos Gets Emotional About Fatherhood: Billy ‘Has Given Me Life’

And may age him. Finally.

Like most new parents, John Stamos is ecstatic to become a dad — but he’s also exhausted and emotional.

The 54-year-old Fuller House actor and his wife Caitlin McHugh, 31, recently welcomed son Billy, and the new dad, who hosted WE Day in L.A. today, told Us Weekly he had been up early singing the tear-jerker, “House at Pooh Corner” to his newborn.

“I just cried,” he confessed. “And I FaceTimed him earlier and I cried. It’s more beautiful than I could have ever imagined and I dreamt of this for a long time.”

Stamos added that the little boy has “given [him] life” and inspired him to finally grow up.

“I’ve had Peter Pan syndrome and it’s time to let that go,” he admitted. “Somebody ran up to me and was like, ‘You’re finally gonna look old now that you have a kid.’ I’ll take it!”

The actor praised McHugh for making labor look easy. “My wife was so beautiful and so graceful through it all, like she does life,” he gushed in a Thursday interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, she just kind of breezed through. I hate tell women, but she did it in about 20 minutes.”

“It happens so fast and then they were like, ‘Take pictures! Grab her leg!’ And then it was over,” he continued. “But it was just beautiful.”

Stamos and the model, who began dating in 2016, wed in February at his Beverly Hills, California home.
