Interior designers and TV personalities (and ridiculously handsome married couple) Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent recently said good-bye to their beautiful, 9,000-sq.-ft. Hancock Park home in Los Angeles to return to New York City. If you’re a big fan of their TLC show, Nate & Jeremiah by Design, like I am, then you may be surprised by the move, as we witnessed the couple gushing over the house’s sun-drenched rooms and proclaiming that was where they and their then-two-year-old daughter, Poppy, would “put down roots.”

Now, just two years later, they’ve sold the house, pared down their belongings to fit into their new pared-down space, and headed back to New York, the city where the couple started dating. Apparently, Jeremiah missed the energy and street life back East. “I felt untethered in Los Angeles,” he tells Architectural Digest. “It didn’t feel like us.” He also became convinced that Poppy, now five, and Oskar would have a richer experience growing up in a city like New York. “I realized that Poppy talked to the same 11 people every day,” he says.

Not surprisingly, they’ve transformed their 3,400-square-foot 1899 West Village townhouse into a spectacular family home, with a sweet-but-stylish bedroom for Poppy…

And an inviting living area…

And here, Nate and Jeremiah take you on a tour of their enviable NYC digs…
