Justin Timberlake Apologizes to Britney and Janet — But What About the Fans He (Literally) Spit On?

I write this article with great sadness because, like so many other people, I’ve always been a huge fan of Justin Timberlake. He’s so funny! And charming! And talented! And yet…

If you’ve watched “Framing Britney Spears” on Hulu, as I did the other night, then you’ve probably been struck by what a tool Justin was to Britney, throwing her under the bus with his “revenge music video” and gleefully bragging about how he deflowered her to anyone who asked. And this was just the first in what became a long history of tool-like moves, basically destroying Janet Jackson’s career with their Super Bowl performance and using Jessica Simpson to win a bet.

After the recent backlash from the Britney documentary, Justin issued an apology (17 years too late) via an Instagram statement:

Did you know the father of two also has a history of spitting on fans and waitstaff? Why, yes, yes, he does.

He has reportedly spit on Swedish teenagers from the roof of his hotel in Gothenburg, spit water on servers at events…

…and, according to an account by writer Jaed Coffin, when a fan approached the singer over lunch, Justin later lamented, “Sometimes I just want to spit my food at them.”

Charming, indeed.
