Well, well, well. Look who’s a big preschooler now:

Not sure why he’s starting in January, but I’m guessing it’s to avoid the competition with all the other first-day photos on Facebook in August and September. Well-played, George! Well-played, indeed.
Regardless, Prince George, 2, started his first day at the Westacre Montessori School nursery in Norfolk today. To mark the occasion, Prince William and Kate Middleton released two official photos of their son in front of the school, much to the delight of us royal family followers. (Yes, I had a scrapbook of clippings from Diana and Charles’ wedding when I was a little girl. Don’t judge!)

The Montessori School is located 10 miles away from the family’s Anmer Hall home on the Sandringham Estate. The nursery is housed in a converted chapel and located on a private road.
The lowdown: The school only takes 29 children at a time and costs $49 a day, which is actually modest compared to other schools near Kensington Palace, many of which cost more than $22,000 a year. Not-so-coincidentally, both William and Harry attended Montessori nurseries growing up.
They probably also heard that my son attends a Montessori school. We’re pretty much like royalty! Only without the palace, royal guards or, you know, royal titles. Otherwise, exactly the same.
