Whether you’re unable to take a vacation this summer or simply feeling nostalgic for the beach, there is one fun and easy way to recreate that tropical vibe: by making some cocktails that would look right at home on the sandy shores. In fact, we have Beaches Resorts’ five most popular cocktails among vacation-goers — and the ingredients you’ll need to mix ’em up yourself.

Dirty Banana

This one is my personal fave; I can already taste the fruity concoction going down, as I imagine the waves lapping my feet and the ocean air making my hair big and curly like Monica of Friends. Also a favorite cocktail of Beaches Negril guests, thanks to its thick, tropical-inspired yumminess, the Dirty Banana is one of those cocktails that instantly transports you to the Caribbean.

Ingredients you’ll need:

1.0 oz. Dark Rum
1.0 oz. Crème de Cacao Dark
3.0 oz. Milk
0.5 oz. Simple Syrup
1 Banana
Pineapple wedge or cherry for garnish

How to make it:

Throw in some ice and all other ingredients (except the garnish, of course) into a blender. Blend until smooth, for about 30 seconds. Pour into a cocktail glass, garnish with pineapple or cherry (and a cute cocktail umbrella, if you’d like), and imagine relaxing with your drink by the blue-green Caribbean Sea in Jamaica. Ahhhhh.

Bob Marley once said, “One good thing about music – when it hits you, you feel no pain” … and the same could be said of this colorful drink with his namesake. Get the recipe here.

Miami Vice

Okay, so maybe you don’t have your own Miami Vice boat, so get the second best thing: your own blended Miami Vice cocktail, which guests of Beaches Turks & Caicos say is even yummier than the sight of Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx in the movie of the same name. Recipe here.

Hummingbird

A flavorful, rum-based drink for folks as thirsty as the hummingbird in this picture, the Hummingbird cocktail recipe is featured here.

Purple Rain

Crank up Prince and picture yourself at a swim-up bar with this smooth-tasting cocktail in hand. Get the recipe here — no blender required!
